Moving across the country was definitely something that came as a big shock to me. No matter how much I thought I was prepared, I really didn’t know the half of what I was getting into. For a girl who has spent her entire single life in central Pennsylvania, getting married and moving to California was a pretty large leap. Like I said, I did the best I could to prepare. First, I knew I would be with the man I loved, so that made it a simple choice. Dating long-distance was not easy and I was ecstatic once I knew that there was an end in sight. I had been to California a few times to visit Andrew before officially moving, however nothing could prepare me for going months on end without seeing my family. I’m not gonna lie….its been tough.
BUT Andrew and I have been so blessed to have found a wonderful church family at Calvary Monterey. And I mean we have been EXTREMELY blessed! Andrew and I both grew up in different denominations, but both had the same ideals concerning our faith. We both discussed things we really valued in a church and ministries we could see ourselves pouring into and becoming involved in. We feel like our new home church has fit us to a T. We joined a life group through the church specifically for young married couples. We have been blessed to get to know some wonderful couples who are in the same stage of life as we are and it makes this new experience a lot of fun. We are so glad to have found a new church home in Calvary.
