Today its raining and all I wanna do is cuddle up on the couch with my favorite blanket and read a book. It’s been so nice and sunny in Monterey these last few weeks that I feel so guilty about staying inside. Somehow, though, I still managed to read a few books which I must catch you up on.
What I loved most about The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern, was the sense of wonder throughout the entirety of the book. Every time I picked it up I was in awe at the mysterious imagery, magic, and illusion that were on those pages. It was hard for me to believe that this book was Erin Morgenstern’s debut novel. The story revolves around the Night Circus which appears without warning and vanishes in the same way. No one knows where it comes from or where it is going next. Among the magic that is the circus, their is a competition going on between two characters, Celia and Marco. They were sworn to this challenge when they were little and grew up training and preparing for it. But without any persuasion they fall madly in love which leads to a chain of wild and dangerous events.
If you’re like me and read reviews on books before picking them up, then I would like to say that I found it to be true to most of the reviews that I read. While I really enjoyed this book, I have to warn you that it was a little slow in some parts. Their were more descriptions than dialogue. I don’t normally read books with so much imagery but found that I really enjoyed it.
