I cannot believe how fast this summer has gone. While I love summer months, I am absolutely in love with all things that autumn brings. Some may be eager to hang on to these last few weeks of summer but I am so eager to get out my oversized sweaters and boots. Bring on Fall!
RECAP of my AUGUST GOALS:
Consistent time with the Lord. I will never check this off my list. While I did better this last month at spending time with my Savior, it is still a goal of mine to get into a better routine and meet with Him daily.
Do something nice for a stranger. AH! I failed on this one. I mean….I know I did plenty of nice things for strangers (like letting them go ahead of me in the starbucks line) but I was hoping to do something BIG! Such as, buy a meal for the person in front of me or pull my car over just to help an old lady across the street. I am still on the lookout to help someone out, but until then I am going to continue trying to be a nicer person (especially when it comes to driving).
Get to the gym more often. Depends on the meaning of often…some weeks were better and some not so much. Go away for a weekend. We didn’t go anywhere necessarily (unless a shopping trip 30 mins north counts?) but we did explore a little more and check out some new spots in Monterey. We have been trying to do something new every weekend. I hope to get a little further from Monterey this month. Figure out Tumblr. I’m no expert. But I understand it a little better. Reach out to other bloggers. I had the pleasure of “meeting” Kelsey from my previous August Goals post. Just having that little bit of encouragement from her helped spur me on to reach out to other bloggers. Thanks so much for the encouragement Kelsey!
1. Read a nonfiction/Christian Living/Inspirational book. I have been reading a lot lately, mostly for pleasure. While they’re light and quick, I want to get into something that is going to challenge me. I have one on my mind and I am anxious to start it.
2. Re-launch my etsy shop. Its been a little while since I have updated my shop. Through the summer, not many people want to wear cozy cowls and infinity scarves, but with fall just around the corner I am gearing up to re-launch my etsy shop with items for fall. I was hoping to have it ready now but its going to be a few more days. Be on the lookout!
3. Bake. I LOVE to bake. Last summer, when we were first married, I baked a lot. But with it being just the two of us, it was hard to finish them before they went bad. I have let this discourage me from baking and haven’t been in the kitchen as much as I would like to be. Fall just screams baked goods and I am so excited to bake with pumpkins, apples, and all other fall goodies. Plus we have more friends now so I will be sharing a lot.
4. Develop my photography skills. I have been going back and forth with photography for years. I often feel discouraged because theres always someone better and more skilled than I so why does the world need ANOTHER photographer. I know this shouldn’t prevent me from taking pictures and practicing. I am going to try really hard this month to practice more even if that means I take the camera with me everywhere. There is so much beauty in every day life and I feel more and more determined to capture it. I will try to post more photos and any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
I linked up with The Tiny Twig again for this post so be sure to check out her blog.
