I am SO EXCITED that October is finally here! The first day of autumn may take place in September, but October for me just screams fall. And in our household, October is when its safe to start play Christmas music. What’s not to love?
RECAP of SEPTEMBER GOALS
Read a nonfiction/Christian Living/Inspirational book. I chose to read Radical by David Platt. This book is life changing. Its so easy sometimes to get comfortable in our faith which is why David Platt challenges Christians to get out of their comfort zone and spread God’s word. I haven’t actually finished the book yet…each page is its own gold nugget and its taking me a little while to grasp the enormity of his message. Re-launch my etsy shop. I am so happy to have my etsy shop up and running again. I worked hard over the last couple of months to get it ready to go for fall and I am so happy to have it back in business. I am working on a few new projects that I am excited to release to you guys. Bake. With the promise of fall weather to come, I have been baking almost non-stop. I promise to post a few. Develop my photography skills. I have been taking more pictures and reading more from the helpful hints book Andrew got me. Instead of reading a lot at one time, I am trying to read different parts in chunks so I can practice that skill before moving onto something else.
MY GOALS FOR OCTOBER
Work on our Christmas cards. Didn’t I tell you that Christmas music starts in October? One reason I love fall is because it has a grand finale…Christmas. And on top of Christmas, I love a good DIY project. This month I plan to design our Christmas cards and get a jump start on them.
Go on a fall hike. I miss home all the time, but I especially miss being back east in the fall. California is beautiful but it just doesn’t do “autumn color” justice. Next weekend I am flying to upper state New York to vacation at Silver Bay with my family and my Dad’s family. I am oh so excited to spend time with them and especially for some crisp fall days and crunchy leaves. There are many hiking trails near where we are staying which I can’t wait to explore with the fam.
Go through my closet. While Andrew and I were moving all of our stuff around over the weekend to get ready for our new carpet, I realized that I have way too many clothes. It’s time to go through my dresser and closet and get rid of what I am not wearing.
Get fit. My boss sprung a fitness challenge at work last week. Our goal for the next two months is to workout at least 3 times a week and to focus on a low-carb diet. While I am loving the idea of this challenge its kinda spoiling my baking fever.
Carve a pumpkin. After all, it is October.
