Andrew has been gone for the past week and a half on an overseas work trip, which has left me to binge watching Netflix for hours at a time. Not that I mind too terribly but getting out of the house was just what I needed this past weekend. I took a girlfriend with me and we drove up the coast to Santa Cruz on what ended up being an unusually cloudy day.
We first walked along West Cliff Drive which had stunning views of the coastline after every turn.
After walking along the coast for awhile the clouds only got heavier and threatened rain so we headed back to the car and moved on to Pacific Avenue for lunch. We stopped at Assembly per a recommendation and it did not disappoint. I was thrilled to learn that at 2pm they were still serving breakfast…I ordered the fried egg sandwich which was AMAZING!
After brunch we spent the next few hours scouring book stores for our next summer read and checking out what the local shops had to offer. After settling on some books, we ended the afternoon with coffee at Verve Coffee Roasters. This place seriously fulfilled all my coffee shop aesthetic dreams 🙂
The day went by so fast but it was such a good one and I can’t wait to get back up to Santa Cruz. There are still so many views and coffee shops yet to explore.
