A cold front has finally moved in on the central coast. Our mornings and evenings are much chillier and we’ve even been seeing some rain every now and again. Back when I lived on the east coast I used to love the changing seasons especially when I would switch out my closet. The tanks and shorts get packed away and the cozy knits and coats come out. My favorite was always unpacking all my cozy sweaters and dreaming of the snowy days when I could wear them again. Lucky for us living in Monterey, we have pretty mild weather so often times in the winter months, all I need is a sweater to keep me warm.
I wanted to share a few of my favorite picks for sweaters this year. I bought this one from GAP recently on major sale and I seriously can’t stop wearing it. In fact, I keep putting it in the hamper to wash and then I end up pulling it out so I can wear it again (don’t judge me). I’ve also been eyeing this marled one and this turtleneck for our trip home next month. Also, check out this textured one and this long one which would go great over some leggings.
I have found that it is easiest to wear layers here in California so cardigans are perfect for adding that extra layer of warmth to any outfit and I almost never leave the house in just a t-shirt. I wear them all the time at work, whether it’s over a T-shirt or a button-down, as it can be just what I need to dress up or down any outfit while staying cozy at the same time. I love these boyfriend cardigans from Loft and have a few colors. It’s nice and light and such a great length. And, of course, a closet is never complete without a chunky cardigan such as this one or this one. When I’m not at work I practically live in these.
Here are some more of my favorite sweaters for the season:
