This Thursday marks our 5th Thanksgiving together in California and unlike the last four, this year we actually have a table to eat at. No joke, we went without a real dining table for the first three years of our marriage until all my begging and pleading finally came through. Our tiny space doesn’t have room for much of anything, but we spent months this last summer purging and minimizing the stuff in our place and were able to finally add an official dining table. With Thanksgiving around the corner, I thought I would share how I’m setting our table this year.
My goal for our table this year was to not spend any money purchasing additional decorations to set the table with (remember when I said we’re minimizing ? ). I wanted to keep it very minimal and simple, although I did splurge on some fresh greens. I used a bouquet of fall greens and got this candle ring at Whole Foods to use as the centerpiece along with this Anthropolgie candle that I’ve had for months and haven’t had the heart to light yet. We had a bad experience with a live tree a few years ago (so many bugs in our apartment), so once Thanksgiving is over this wreath will be outside on our door. I’ll probably add some berries to it for a more festive look.
This year our plan is to have a very relaxing and chill day together. Our plan is to stay in our pajamas until at least noon, cook our Thanksgiving dinner for the two of us and we’ll definitely be watching a football game or two.
I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
