Thanksgiving has been one of those particular holidays that is always tough for us as we have had to spend it away from family for so many years now. So many of our friends are in the same boat which is why this year we decided to use the long weekend to get out of town and spend some quality time together as friends and keep each other company. We settled on a trip to Arnold, CA and stayed in a little cabin called Bearadise. While we didn’t see any bears, it was the perfect little location to spend a weekend snuggled up, playing games, and drinking hot cocoa….which is exactly what we did!
Saturday morning we did venture out for a quick hike on the Arnold Rim Trail and were pleasantly surprised at the fall colors that were still lingering. It felt good to breathe in the fresh, cool air and stretch our legs.
After only hiking for about an hour or so, we decided to head back as the temperature was dropping fast and an afternoon around the fire sounded so enticing. We made it back and about 30 minutes later the snow started falling. It was so magical! We stayed in and watched it fall for the remainder of the day, cuddled around the fireplace watching football and reading.
After a rough night of waking up every time big chunks of snow hit the roof and shook the cabin, we took the morning slow, packing up and eating one last meal together around the fire. It was such a nice and slow weekend with our friends and ended up being just what we needed. Until next time, Bearadise!
